Assessing one's emotional state with the Wheel of Emotions

Objectives

  • Naming one's emotions
  • Highlighting the diversity of emotions we go through daily
  • Showing that they often change and that it is normal.

Scenario

Duration:

  • 15-20 minutes the first day ;
  • 5-10 minutes everyday (by the end of the day)

Introduce the participants to the Wheel of emotions of Robert Plutchik. Distribute them a template per person that they can draw on.

Eyes closed, invite the participants to remember the emotional states they went through during the day and to name them. Ask them to make a cross on the wheel in the area that fits the best to the current emotional state. Precise there will be no restitution of this introspective work.

Reproduce the exercise by the end of each day.

Material required

  • A copy of the Wheel of emotions of Robert Plutchik per person
