Shepherds, time keepers, breakfast and cleaning team

Objectives

  • Sharing fairly the daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Contributing to the group's well-being

How it works

Distributing small roles everyday boosts participants' involvement for the sake of the group. It also eases the workload of leaders, trainers or facilitators, who can focus more on the educational aspects of the training course and offer participants a better support.

Various roles can be proposed to the participants. According to your needs, we advice you the following:

  • Breakfast team (3 persons a day): setting up the breakfast table and preparing the hot drinks (the, coffee);
  • Shepherds and time keepers (2 persons a day): gathering people when needed (for the workshops, the meals…), looking for the clock, reminding others of the time schedule;
  • Atmosphere keeper (1 person a day, when relevant): observing the group, to see if a break is needed, an energizer, some water supplies…
  • Cleaning team or “Small useful things team” (2 persons a day): checking the overall cleanness of the venue.

Create boards for the participants to register for the different roles. It's better if participants suscribe on their own, on a voluntary-basis, but feel free to remind them that they should all contribute in a way or another along their stay.
